Pilot Introduction of AI Simultaneous Interpretation at KCR 2024
The Korean Society of
Radiology would like to inform you of that an AI-based interpretation solution
will be introduced on a pilot basis in select conference rooms at KCR 2024 in
line with current trends in AI technology. While the technology and accuracy of
AI simultaneous interpretation are not yet perfect, we have decided to
implement this solution to help minimize the language barrier between English
and Korean and assist participants in better understanding the presentations. Please
refer to the information below for further details regarding AI interpretation
services. *Session rooms offering AI interpretation are marked with
[*AI] in the Program at a Glance.
1. AI Simultaneous Interpretation: Languages &
Format |
•
Presentations
delivered in Korean will be translated into English, and presentations
delivered in English will be translated into Korean.
• The AI-translated content
will be displayed as subtitles on a secondary screen.
•
If
the subtitles on the secondary screen are not visible due to limited space, you
can access the translated content on your personal device, such as a
smartphone, by scanning a QR code provided onsite. You can select either English or Korean.
| 2. Important Notes | • Medical terminology, proper
nouns, and abbreviations may not be translated smoothly.
• The AI interpretation system
translates after the speaker or chair completes a sentence, so there may be a
slight delay before the translated content appears on the screen. (We kindly
ask speakers to leave a short pause between sentences to allow for more
accurate and seamless translation.)
• The AI Simultaneous
interpretation service is provided as an auxiliary tool to help participants
effectively understand the content of the presentations. |
